75 – 4 Row Chain/Oil-Important-Oil/Head Bearings on 74 and 4 Cyl.

4 ROW CHAIN
All 4 row primary chains for the 74 are now being ‘supplied endless (no connecting link or cotter pin).
This is being done to strengthen the chain. In order to replace the chain, it will be necessary to remove motor sprocket, and loosen clutch sprocket so that it can be slid out far enough to allow motor sprocket and chain to be installed at the same time.


OIL IMPORTANT – OIL
Starting the week of December 13th, all motors, transmissions and primary drives will be shipped dry. Each of the above assemblies are now being given a special cleaning and flushing after assembly and test. Each tank has a warning sticker attached. Be sure to fill each unit according to instructions.


HEAD BEARINGS ON 74 AND 4 CYL.
After the first 500 miles of operation of a new 74 or 4 cylinder, it is advisable to check the head bearing adjustment and take up any slack which has occurred from the seating of the bearings.
