Service Bulletin 2-14 74″ Chief (1940 To 1948 Only) Frame Repairing And Straightening

74″ CHIEF (1940 TO 1948 ONLY) FRAME REPAIRING AND STRAIGHTENING

WHAT?The repairing and straightening of the 1940 to 1948 Chief frames which has been performed at our local agency, the Indian Sport Center, 354 Columbus Avenue, during the past year has been discontinued.
WHY?The Chief frame aligning and straightening fixtures which the factory loaned to the Indian Sport Center, are required to build the new 1950 Chief, so we have moved them back here to the factory.
SO–When you have a 1940 to 1948 Chief frame that needs to be repaired and straightened, ship it to us here at the factory marked for the attention of the Service Department. Be sure to mail to us here in the Service Department a “Parts Returned to Factory” Form M-710, listing the frames you are returning by part number and description, with instructions as to what you wish done.
DON’Tsend us any FORKS to be repaired or straightened.
DON’Tsend us any OTHER MODEL OR YEAR FRAMES than the 1940 to 1948 Chief frames.
WHY?Because the straightening and aligning fixtures for the forks and other model and year frames are still at the Indian Sport Center and they will continue to handle the fork and other model year frame repairs down there.
NOW–Please follow these instructions, and we will get your 1940 to 1948 Chief frames repaired and returned to you as quickly as possible.
