123 – IMPORTANT – Do Not Allow Batteries To Stand Idle

I M P O R T A N T
DO NOT ALLOW BATTERIES TO STAND IDLE

When new machines are received, the battery should be removed from the machine and placed on a battery
rack, if the machine is not to be sold or put in service immediately.

Batteries which are allowed to set idle for a period of six or eight weeks before they are placed in service will sulphate, which is extremely detrimental to the battery. Often times, machines are not put into service for several months after they have been delivered from the factory and if the battery has not been given attention during this time, it will not take a charge when the machine is put into service.

By removing the batteries from machines and placing them in a battery rack or bench, it is very easy to give them the proper attention by recharging every four or six weeks. In this way, the battery will be kept in first class condition to be put into service as soon as the machine is sold.
