GENERATOR DRIVE CHAIN ENCLOSURE AND LUBRICATION

To better lubricate the generator drive chain, it is suggested that the oil tank outer breathe tube assembly, part No. 41915, be entered into the generator chain cover. This is done by drilling a hole 5/16″ in diameter in the top surface of the generator chain cover 3” from the open end of the cover, and 9 /16″ in from the open side.

In this hole, place a rubber grommet, part No. 44225, and insert the tank breather tube. Cut off breather tube to the correct length, taking care to see that the breather tube does not protrude far enough inside of the cover so that it will strike the generator chain.

SEALING THE COVER

To seal the chain cover so that moisture is kept out and as a help to keep the lubrication in, a tool box rubber, part No. 102593, may be used. This rubber is of ample length to go around the chain cover and the only thing necessary in installing this rubber is to notch out for the clips on the chain cover back plate. By running the tank breather tube into the cover and sealing the cover as outline above, the life of the generator chain will .:be decidedly
increased.
