Overview
This 1953 Indian Chief took 30 years of one man’s passion to assemble. In 1964, Bob Stark, purchased the frame and motor cases. Starting a bike restoration with so few pieces seemed daunting. However, what he decided to do is incredible! He spent 30 years researching, locating, and obtaining New Old Stock parts to complete the restoration of this 1953 Indian Chief.
A bike can be restored many times, but it can only be considered new one time. This bike is the closest that can ever be obtained to factory new. It has been completely restored and assembled by, Bob Stark, and it is ready to ride! He unwrapped parts from original factory wrapping, cleaned them up and installed them on this one-of-a-kind motorcycle.
This bike is probably the only New Old Stock 1953 Indian Chief in the world! This truly unique 1953 Indian Chief has not been started. When the bike is sold the new owner will be given the option to have us start this New Old Stock Bike, or keep it as a showpiece.

Mileage
Zero. This motorcycle has never been started,. Bob Stark built it to factory specs but decided early on to never start it during his stewardship.
Paint
Original color black paint as part of the restoration.
Sheet Metal
Excellent factory original sheet metal. Bob Stark gathered parts from dealerships as they closed down and always watched for the best for his special project.
Chrome
Plenty of nice, original, shiny chrome.
Mechanical
Engine: Indian 80 Cubic Inch with compensator sprocket and clutch brake. This engine was built to factory specs with the best of parts gathered. Never started although it is capable of running and it will be prepped to do so if the new curator requests.

Wheels & Tires
Original Dunlop Tires’s – It’s recommended that the new owner changes to new tires instead of the original Dunlops if this bike is used for riding.
Title
Clear California Title and Registration. Also comes with 1964 Title when the Frame & Engine cases was originally purchased.

Original Bill of Sale and California Title from 1964 when the bike was originally purchased, showing the matching engine and frame numbers.
