80 – 1938 Willard Batteries

He find that on the first quantity of Willard batteries there is
insufficient opening in the vent plug baffle.


This fault has been corrected on recent shipments therefore, it
is only necessary to consider the earlier 1938 shipments, and
it might be well to check immediately all vent plugs in batteries
on the following machines:


CHIEF CCH Nos. 101 to 771
INDIAN 4 DOH Nos. 101 to 282
JUNIOR t)COUT ECH Nos. 101 to 520
SPORT SCOUT FCH Nos. 101 to 49’7

These openings can be corrected by relieving the vent holes with
a hot wire – No. 16 or 18 gauge ( thru the holes in the small disc
in bottom of the plug).
